On Tuesday, South Korea’s Agriculture Ministry announced it was halting imports of beef from Canada following the discovery of a mad cow case in the country. Last week, Canada confirmed a case of bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE), also known as mad cow disease in Alberta. This is the first time in six years that a case of BSE has been confirmed in Canada.
