North Dakota Ranchers Assessing Damage, Losses

(Mott, ND)  —  Ranchers across North Dakota are assessing the damage and losses caused by last week’s blizzard.  The North Dakota Stockmen’s Association says it has heard from ranchers that the losses are still being counted, but that calves are getting sick and cows are confused by the storm.  As the snow melts, NDSA expects loss reports to increase.  North Dakota State University extension is assessing the storms effect on the state’s livestock industry.  The information collected will be used to determine the need for assistance programs and the areas of greatest need.
