(EAST MOLINE, IL)– According to several news reports, John Deere announced on Friday that they would be laying off just over 600 workers at locations in Illinois and Iowa by the end of August.
Reports say that 610 workers will be laid off from plants in East Moline, IL, Davenport, IA and Dubuque, IA as the company cites reduced demand for products from those factories. Back in June, the company announced it was moving production of skid steer loaders and compact track loaders from Dubuque to Mexico by 2026.
