(WASHINGTON D.C.) — On Monday, Donald Trump was sworn in as the 47th President of the United States along with J.D. Vance as Vice President. Numerous agriculture groups sent out their congratulations and included they are looking forward to working together with the new administration.
In a statement, National Corn Growers Association (NCGA) President Kenneth Hartman Jr. said “I want to congratulate President Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance on their inauguration. We know the new president is a staunch ally of the American farmer and second to none when it comes to his negotiation acumen. We look forward to working with him to advance issues of importance to the nation’s corn growers.”
National Association of Wheat Growers (NAWG) President Keeff Felty released the following statement saying “Congratulations to President Trump and Vice President Vance. President Trump has been an advocate for our nation’s producers, and NAWG looks forward to working with him as we continue to advance the needs of wheat growers and rural America.”
The National Association of State Departments of Agriculture looks forward to working with the Trump administration to champion solutions for food and agricultural production. “State departments of agriculture are steady leaders in helping communities solve some of rural and urban America’s most complex challenges of making certain all Americans have access to an abundant and nutritious food supply,” according to NASDA CEO Ted McKinney. “As co-regulators with the federal government on environmental, agricultural and food safety policies, NASDA will work with the Trump Administration to ensure agriculture leads the way toward a healthy and resilient world.”
Growth Energy CEO Emily Skor issued a statement, saying in part that, “President Trump has been a vocal supporter of American agriculture and U.S. ethanol. He?campaigned?and won on his promise to fight for farmers, expand ethanol production, and export American biofuels around the globe. He has been a long-time advocate for lifting the needless regulations standing between U.S. consumers and lower-cost E15. And he recognizes that American farmers and rural communities are essential to unleashing American energy dominance.”
Skor added that “With this administration in our corner, America’s ethanol industry stands ready to drive a new wave of energy and job creation across the heartland. We look forward to working with the President Trump and his administration to deliver on his rural agenda.”
The National Milk Producers Federation congratulated President Trump and the leaders of the new Congress and administration in a statement and is ready and eager to work on a wide range of challenging issues as the new government takes shape.
