We Have a Lot to Be Thankful For

As Thanksgiving is approaching this week, it’s always a good reminder to take a second and think about all of the things we have to be thankful for. In agriculture specifically, there are so many things to be thankful for on a day in, day out basis.

We have our family, our farming operation, our animals health and well-being, our faith, Mother Nature helping deliver our crops each year…….there are a lot of things that come to mind. We have certainty of a one year Farm Bill extension through September 2024. Harvest is almost complete nationwide and yields were better than expected for most. Commodity prices, although not where we’d like them to be, have been solid and give us an opportunity to make a profit or break even.

Waking up each day getting to do what we love, whether it be milking cows and doing chores or talking about the hard work farmers and ranchers do on the radio, there is a lot to be thankful for.

So, as you prepare the turkey and stuffing with the mashed potatoes and green bean casserole this week, remember that things aren’t as bad as they could be or seem in some cases. Look at the bright side and use a glass half full mentality. Enjoy the holiday and be thankful for all that our lives have to offer.

Happy Thanksgiving! -JA
